Bessie R Hardesty

Bessie Rosalee Hardesty, 77, of Newcomerstown, passed away peacefully at Grant Medical Center on Sunday, April 12, 2020 following a lengthy illness. Rosalee was born on February 28, 1943 in Newcomerstown to the late John and Ethel (Belt) Barker. On April 29, 1969, she married Edward Hardesty who preceded her in death in 1978. Rosalee enjoyed doing puzzles and bingo, but most of all, she loved her family and singing to all her grandchildren. Rosalee was a homemaker most of her life, and could often be found doing what she loved to do: cooking. Rosalee is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (David) Little of Newcomerstown; two sons, Ralph Hardesty of Newcomerstown and Brian (Melissa) Hardesty of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Ashley Baker, Christopher Baker, Zachary Wilburn, and Gregory Little all of Newcomerstown; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Gavin Ellwood, and Declyn and Kadrian Wilburn; her sister, Peggy (William) Greathouse; sister-in-law, Bonnie Cunningham; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Gardner. Along with her parents and husband, Rosalee was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack (Margie), Alfred, and Willard (Peg) Cunningham, Vernon Wayne Belt and Johnnie Franklin (Deanna) Barker; her sisters, June Gardner, Midge (Ralph) Lewis and Eileen (Edgar Addy, Tom Hall) Addy-Hall. A memorial service will be held at Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown on Saturday, June 13 at 11 AM with Pastor Martin Addy officiating. There will be no graveside service following the memorial service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
