Bonnie Mae Gardner

Bonnie Mae Gardner, 81, of Port Washington, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 10, 2021, at her home. She was born June 4, 1940 in Port Washington to the late Frederick and Ruth Lucille (Reidenbach) Loader. Bonnie graduated in 1958 from Port Washington High School where she was a cheerleader and played in the band. She then graduated from Massillon City School of Nursing in 1961, and went on to become a Registered Nurse neonatal specialist for 40 years. On December 9, 1960, she married Thomas J. Gardner and followed him across the world as a military wife, from California, Guam, Alaska, and many in between. Bonnie devoted her life to family, loving her husband, caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano. She enjoyed watching her husband and children play sports and was very involved in cheering for many years. In addition to her husband, Thomas Gardner, Bonnie is also survived by three children, Todd (Lori) Gardner of Baltic, Jeffrey (Debra) Gardner of Elizabeth City, NC, and Traci (Richard) Barker of Port Washington; six grandchildren, Tyler, Thomas, Rebekah, Amy, Kyle and Chase; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen (Mike) Henderson of Port Washington and Catherine Freebury of North Royalton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas R. Loader. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown with Pastor Tom Klasserner officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Port Washington. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home.
