Lester H. Stewart

December 28, 1934 - February 18, 2022

Lester H. Stewart, 87 of Fresno, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022. He was born December 28, 1934 in Cleveland, OH to the late James and Clara (Tegtmeyer) Stewart. Lester grew up on the west side of Cleveland where he went to work at a young age for the Pepsi Cola Co. He worked many years delivering beverages for Pepsi, 7up, and O So Good. In 1979 Lester bought Forest Hill Lake and Campground, a business that he devoted his life to and, in many ways defined him. In 1980 Lester started Forest Hill Septic Tank Cleaning. In addition to his two businesses, he drove school bus for the Ridgewood School District for 20 years. He was an avid card player, jokester and handyman. Lester was always the loudest and the entertainment of any event. He could scream at you one minute and then give you the shirt off his back the next minute to help you. He was truly one of a kind: a loving husband, father, grandpa, and a good friend to many. Lester is survived by his wife, LaVerne (Ancin) Stewart whom he married on June 13, 1959. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Patti (George Spencer) Sinclair, Laurie (Tony) Ahern, Linda (Rick) Jamison, Leslie (Lee Shoemaker) Schraff, and Scott (Kim) Stewart; 14 grandchildren, Kayley (Mike) Andrews, Tyler (Cortnie) Jamison, Kristin (Josh Bowman) Jamison, Kelley and Kerry Sinclair, Jill Ahern, Scott (Leslie) Ahern, Conner (Haley) Schraff, Cameron and Cole Schraff, Brandon (Kaley) Stewart, and Jaylin, Sheldyn and Emma Stewart; five great grandchildren; one sister, Viola Long; two sisters-in law, Pat Milczewski and Judy (Bob) Schaub; many nieces and nephews and special niece Mary Long. He is preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Richard, Melvin, and Jack; five sisters, Ruth, Elizabeth, Marguerite, Violet, and Pearl Ann. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 805 Main St Coshocton with Father Tom Gardner officiating.
