Martha Jane Mardis

Martha Jane Mardis, 79 of Newcomerstown, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born Thursday, September 19, 1935 in Gnadenhutten to the late John F. and Gladys L. (Crews) Brick. She worked at Groovefold in Newcomerstown for 25 years. She was a Lifelong Christian and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown, and attended and taught Sunday school at the Church of God in Newcomerstown. On Saturday May 2, 1953 she married William M. Mardis Jr. who died March 1, 2012. She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Jane Baker; three sons, William M. (Brenda) Mardis III, John V. Mardis, Jack D. (Karen) Mardis all of Newcomerstown; eight grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Kopp of Midvale and Vicki (William) Davis of Hilliard. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Page, Sylvia McCartney, her twin Janet McDaniel and 2 infant sisters; brothers, Paul "Doc" Brick, John R. Brick and 2 infant brothers; brother-in-law, Russ McDaniel: son-in-law, Don Baker. Services will be Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Addy Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Miller officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Addy Funeral Home.
