Audrey Ruby (Hashman) Renner, 93, of Avon Park, FL, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2025, after a brief illness.
Audrey was born September 21, 1931, in Jackson Township, Guernsey County, OH to the late Melvin W. and Etha L. (Ruby) Hashman. She was a 1949 graduate of Newcomerstown (Ohio) High School, and later went on to graduate from beauty school in Columbus, OH. Following graduation, she worked a short time as a beautician in Cambridge, OH. On September 21, 1952, Audrey married Wayne R. Renner, who passed away on April 14, 2006, after 53 years of marriage. In 1959, Audrey and Wayne moved from Stone Creek, OH to Avon Park. They enjoyed traveling overseas and cruising the Caribbean Islands with their long-time friends. Audrey was very outgoing and would talk to anyone. She had a soft spot in her heart for those less fortunate. Cats were her weakness as she would tend to the strays in the neighborhood. Wayne often joked that if he were to be reincarnated, he wanted to come back as one of Audrey’s cats as they were treated better than him. Audrey was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Sebring, FL. She is survived by four nieces and two nephews, and special friends Donald and Mary Loy and Joy Ramsey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Robert L. and Jane M. Hashman, sister-in-law Doris Witt, and one nephew.
A very special thank you to Donald, Mary, Joy, Kenna, and Jade (Audrey’s hospice nurse) for taking such good care of her as her final wish was to pass peacefully at home.
In keeping with Audrey’s wishes, a caring cremation has taken place.
A private memorial service was held at Coshocton County Memory Gardens chapel on Friday, September 19th, with Kenneth Allen, Jr. officiating. Wayne received Military Funeral Honors for his service during World War II. They were laid to rest, together forever.
