Chester W. Thomas, 84, of 59909 County Road 9, Newcomerstown, died Sunday, October 21, 2007, at the Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. Mr. Thomas was born on June 24, 1923, in Bakersville, to the late Oscar and Anola (Maurer) Thomas. He attended West Lafayette High School and worked as a dairy farmer and agricultural lime dealer. Mr. Thomas was a member of the former Evangelical & Reform Church, of Bakersville, and was a former trustee od Adams and Oxford Townships, Coshocton County, as well as a member of the Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and friends. On December 9, 1947, he married Eileen (Gross) Thomas who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jmaes Thomas and his fiance Ginny Smith of West Lafayette; one daughter, Janice (Dan) Stocker of Newcomerstown; one granddaughter, Tiffany (Steve) Incarnato of West Lafayette; three grandsons, Shaun Snader of Arlington Va., and Jonathan Stocker and Cory Stocker both of Newcomerstown; two great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Anthony Incarnato, one brother in-law, Lloyd Hothem of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Hothem; a brother, Melvin Thomas; and a sister in-law, Arlene Thomas.
