Deborah A. Ankrum Obituary

Debbie Ankrum, a devoted wife, loving mother, and passionate entrepreneur, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering dedication to her family and work.

Born in Coshocton County, Ohio, to Lavern and Doris (Fitzpatrick) Kent, Debbie grew up cherishing family values and discovering her love for crafting. She graduated from Riverview High School in 1974 and soon after married the love of her life, Steve Ankrum, on June 7, 1975. Together, they built a beautiful life and a successful business—Quality Catering in North Carolina—where Debbie, as CEO, poured her heart into every aspect of the company while enjoying cherished weekends at the beach.

Above all, Debbie’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Steve; her children, Ben (Molly) Ankrum of Akron, Ohio, Monica (Rob) Lewis of Piqua, Ohio, and Amanda (Larry) Ankrum of Archdale, North Carolina; her cherished grandsons, Trent Simmons and Jayce Ankrum; her brother Jim (Trish) Kent of Zanesville; her sister, Janice Kent of Massillon; her adored niece and nephew, Marissa and Ryan Schmucker; and her grandniece and grandnephew, Gianna and KJ.

Debbie's warmth, creativity, and generosity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Whether she was crafting something beautiful, preparing a meal with love, or offering a listening ear, she was a source of comfort and inspiration.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to The Cancer Society, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Autism Society.
