Earl Clemens, 100, of 610 Beech St., Newcomerstown, O., died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, in Riverside Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Newcomerstown, O. He was born July 31, 1908, in Guernsey County, O., a son of the late Florence (Eckelberry) Clemens and Benjamin Clemens. Earl attended Union Hill School through 8th grade then in 1928 received a diploma in Applied Electricity from Chicago Engineering Works. He was employed at Heller Brothers from 1936 until retirement from Simonds in 1973. He was a member of Masonic Lone Star Lodge No. 175 of Newcomerstown. His first wife, Mary (Marlatt) Clemens, whom he married July 16, 1934, died in Oct. 19, 1940. His second wife, Wilma (Hinds) Clemens, whom he married in April 1948, died in October 1982. He also was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Clemens, and three sisters, Ethel Clemens, Dortha Clemens and Cora Milligan. Surviving are one daughter, Shirley Burky and husband Bill of Orrville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucy Clemens of Orrville; and one nephew, John Milligan of California. Services will be held at Addy Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery at Plainfield, O. Visitation will be in Addy Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. with Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008.
