Earl L. Weinzimmer, 75, of Newcomerstown, passed away at his farm on Friday, June 27, 2025.
Born July 12, 1949, in Cleveland, Earl was the son of the late Gerald and Hilda (Mayberry) Weinzimmer. He was a proud member of the Lions Club and the Elks, and a familiar face at Cy Young Lanes, where he bowled for many years.
Earl was a man of ingenuity and grit. He believed strongly in self-reliance and would much rather build something from scratch—usually out of parts he had lying around—than drive six miles to town and buy it. He was a lifelong lover of all things automotive, a dedicated drag racer, and an unabashed car guy. He was also deeply connected to nature, spending countless hours in the woods as a devoted woodland steward. When not racing or working on a project, he was always up for a good card game with friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura Weinzimmer; his children, Paul Weinzimmer and Sam (Danielle) Weinzimmer; and his cherished grandchildren, Grant, Jackson, Piper, and Emma. He also leaves behind his sister Patti (Clyde) Null; his sister-in-law Margaret (James) Yute; his brother-in-law Paul Pazkowski; and his best friend Jerry (Carol) Conrad.
In keeping with Earl’s wishes, a cremation will take place. Visitations will be held at Addy Funeral Home on Saturday, August 2, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Earl's name to your local vocational school.
