Edgar Barrett (Barry) Pickett, 83, of Newcomerstown, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at his home after a long struggle with Parkinson’s. Barry was born in Fremont to the late Edgar and Lois (Mulholland) Pickett. He was a 1960 graduate of Newcomerstown High School. Barry retired from Empire Plastics in 2004 after over 40 years of work. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, eating out, and exploring historic sites. He loved going on vacations, spending time with his family, and enjoyed time at the lake. He was also a lifetime member of the Elks and a Scout Master in his younger days. He married his wife Mary Kathryn (Clouse) Pickett on August 25, 1962 who survives. In addition to his wife, Barry was survived by his children, Kariann (Ed) Gott, Melissa (Bart) Haswell, Jennifer (Kevin) Porter; grandchildren, Kearstyn (Jacob) Tilley, Zachary Porter, Michael Porter, Jami (Kurt) Vandock, Ryan (Korie) Haswell; and 6 great-grandchildren, Ace, Barrett, Callaway, Bexley, Jensen, and Juliana; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judith Conley. A brief Memorial Service will be held for Edgar Barrett Pickett on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Addy Funeral Home at 5:00 PM, with Pastor Bracken Foster officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service on Friday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Memorial donations in Barry’s name may be made to Lifecare Hospice or a charity of your choice.
