Florence V Burtscher

Florence V. Burtscher, 97, of Newcomerstown, passed away October 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family who will miss her bright light of love greatly. She was born December 3, 1926 to the late Catherine Demuth. Florence was married to Lewis Kincaid, who passed away in 1960. She then married Gustave Burtscher, who passed away in 2010 after over 50 years of marriage. Florence was the mother of eight children; those surviving her are Shirley Gibson (dec. husband Leon) of North Carolina, Donna (Rusty) Henry of Dennison, Ginny (Tom) Richardson of Tuscarawas, Milo (Martha) Kincaid of Newcomerstown, Bev Oyer (dec. husband Roger) of Carrollton, Joe (Diana) Burtscher and Jeff (Billie) Burtscher, both of Newcomerstown; and preceding her in death was one son, Tony Kincaid. Florence was grandmother of 17 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 11 with one on the way. She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.  She will be sorely missed by all of her children and all who knew her. A lifelong quilter, Flo had won blue ribbons at quilt shows for her beautiful works of art. She was an avid reader, furniture mover, and loved jigsaw puzzles. She was an excellent baker and cook. A hard worker, always putting out a garden, canning what she grew, mowing a huge yard with a push mower, along with cleaning up brush around the house. She would work from morning light to dark, always, though having time to give her children help when they needed it. A light has gone out of this world that can never be replaced. We love you mom.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown with Mike Gibson officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, from 11 to 1. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
