Garnie Woodring

Garnie Lester Woodring, 91, of Newcomerstown, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Roscoe Gardens in Coshocton after a short illness. He was born November 2, 1933, in Boone, NC to the late Thomas and Luvinie (Trivett) Woodring. He was a self-employed truck driver and timber cutter, running Woodring Timber for many years.  He enjoyed bluegrass music and festivals and was very musically talented. He played banjo, guitar, fiddle, and mandolin. He loved camping and fishing. On June 22, 1957 Garnie married Ruth Caroline (Lafferty) Woodring who passed away August 17, 2021. Garnie is survived by his children, Garnie Woodring JR, Shirley (Rick) Glazer; daughter-in-law, Beverly Woodring; brother, Donley Woodring; grandkids, Joshua (Dawn) Woodring, Krista (Ryan) Thomas, Ginelle Hayhurst (Rodney), Nicole (Ben) Hostetler, Heather (Nathan) McNeil, Ashley (Clint) Stutzman, Katie (Coulten) Baker, Cody (Kelsie) Woodring; 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, David Woodring; and 7 siblings. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Fresno at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.addyfuneralhome.com.
