Helen Hickman

Helen R. Hickman, 86, of 360 Neighbor St., died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. She was born Feb. 22, 1917, to the late Pearl (Johnson) Booth and Ray Booth. A graduate of Newcomerstown High School, she was formerly employed at M&K Market, Lawler's Pharmacy and Scott's 5&10. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newcomerstown and worked at the election polls for many years. On Dec. 31, 1940, she married Walter R. "Jack" Hickman. She is survived by two sons, Don (Maria) Hickman of Tucson, Ariz. and Gary Hickman of Piedmont; and four grandchildren, Daniel, Robert, Eric and Whitney Hickman. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ellis Booth and Fred Booth. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at Addy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Silverthorne officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Newcomerstown. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the Addy Funeral Home.
