James Gallagher

James Robert Gallagher, 78, of 146 1/2 Bridge St., Newcomerstown, died tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 28, 1929, In Terra Alta, WV, he was a son of the late Edward and Madeline (Wyndham) Gallagher. He was a US Army veteran and a laborer in the oil field. Survivors include two daughters, Melissa K. Polk and husband James of Walterboro, SC., and Madeline Gallagher Mills of Goose Creek, SC; two grandchildren, Shirley A. Harvey and Trevor Mills of South Carolina; three nieces, Cheryl Peoples of West Lafayette, Karen Ames of fresno, and Teresa Darner of Bakersville; one nephew, Thomas V. Gallagher of West Lafayette; many great-nieces and nephews; and a brother, Francis D. Gallagher of Oakland,Md. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Vincent, Edward, John, Stephen Gallagher; and two sisters, Mary Jane Hardesty and Florence Johnson.
