James "Jim" Wilhelm Obituary

James “Jim” L. Wilhelm, 75 of Kimbolton, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025 at Oak Pointe Nursing Home in Baltic.

Jim was born May 17, 1949, in Summit County to the late Robert James and Virginia Lee (Liston) Wilhelm. He honorably served in the United States Army from 1969-1971. He loved to fish and hunt, and also enjoyed using his metal detector. He could fix or repair anything, and was very innovative. Jim loved the solitude of his property, and especially his pond in Kimbolton. He was an NRA Lite member, and a member of First Baptist Church in Newcomerstown. Jim had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and claimed Him as His Lord and Savior. He was a man of honor and integrity. Jim was fiercely independent and a quiet man with a tender heart. He was a loyal friend to those lucky enough to earn his trust.

He is survived by his children Steven (Mary Ann) Wilhelm, and Leslie Wilhelm, both of Akron; his siblings Jerry Wilhelm of Santa Barbara California, and Faye (Tom) Cusma of Kimbolton; and his best friend Nick (Nancy) Robeson of Akron.

Per Jim’s wishes, a cremation will take place. A celebration of Jim’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
