Joseph Haney

Joseph C. Haney, 67, of 121 Chestnut St., Newcomerstown, O., died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, in Union Hospital at Dover, O. He was born July 26, 1941, at Uhrichsville, O., a son of the late Goldie Ellen Haney and Robert Haney. He retired from Alsco Anaconda after 25 years. He attended the Assembly of God at New Philadelphia. He enjoyed playing cards and bingo, sports and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Linda L. (Larkin) Haney, whom he married March 13, 1965; sons, Michael Larkin and wife Cynthia of Uhrichsville and Joseph A. Haney and wife Sondra of New Philadelphia; four daughters, Joette Barr and husband Rex of Uhrichsville, Jeanette M. Albright and husband Derek of New Philadelphia, Jennifer Haney and companion Kevin Ross of Newcomerstown and Joyce Yoho and husband Mike of Newcomerstown; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ed Haney of New Philadelphia and Robert Haney Jr. and wife Carol of New Philadelphia; two sisters, Christine Colvin and husband Tom of New Philadelphia and Mary Ann Sterms of Holloway, O. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lula Jane Slococum and Virginia Gatten, and one brother, Bob Haney. Services will be held at Addy Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, beginning at 1 p.m. with Rev. Larry Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery at Newcomerstown, O. Visitation is in Addy Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
