Lonnie L. Gossett

Lonnie L. Gossett, 77, of Port Washington, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2025 at his home. He was born June 19, 1947 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Milton "Doc" Gossett and Harriet "Hattie" (Murphy) Gossett. Lonnie graduated from Port Washington High School in 1965, and later graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Technology with a two year degree in Drafting and Electrical Tech. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving from 1967 to 1970, earning the rank of E-5 Specialist. Lonnie retired from Xerox Corporation after over 30 years of service. He had a love for motorcycles and especially enjoyed the peacefulness of his property. Lonnie was married to Ann (Patterson) Gossett, with whom he shared two sons before her passing in 1977. He later married Ginny (Berghian) Gossett in December of 1989, who survives. He is also survived by his children, Joel (Susan Ashcraft) Gossett of Matthews, NC, Mike (Michelle Heck) Gossett of New Philadelphia, Dave (Cindy) MacMillan of Thornport, Jim (Chris) MacMillan of Cuyahoga Falls and Mike MacMillan of Cuyahoga Falls; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Hanshaw and Sharon Merrit; brother-in-law, John (Wendy) Berghian; sister-in-law, Kathy (Art) Watts. Lonnie was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Dennis. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
