Martha Mardis

Martha Lucille Mardis, 83, of 1100 East State Road, died Monday, May 8, 2006, at Riverside Manor Nursing Home and Rahabilitation Center in Newcomerstown. She was born March 23, 1923, to the late Adelia (Neighbor) Mardis and Philip Mardis. Martha was a housewife and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown. She is survivied by a sister-in-law, Marion Mardis of Newcomerstown; and many nieces and nephews. She was preeded in death by six brothers, Paul Winfield Mardis, William Meridith Mardis, Muriel McClure Mardis, Vernon Leslie Mardis, Owen Eugene 'Jim' Mardis and George Lester Mardis; two sisters, Mildred Bessie Rothenstine and Lottie Opal Mardis. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Addy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chauncy Eggan officiating. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Newcomerstown. Calling hours are from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Addy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Addy Funeral Home.
