Mary Margaret Yanai, 80, of 212 West Main Street, Newcomerstown, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 at her residence in Newcomerstown. She was born April 23, 1923, in Akron, to the late Barbara (Kellerman) and Joseph Takacs. She was a co-owner of the former Christopher Supply Co, Frito Lay Franchise and Yanai Tax Service, all of Newcomerstown. She was also a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church of Newcomerstown and former president of Ladies of St,Francis. She loved her cat Rosie, traveling, was an avid bowler and enjoyed working cross word puzzles. On August 31, 1940, she married Chris Yanai, who died April 27, 1981. Survivors include three daughters, Mary (Mick) Mayhew, Annie (Dean) Kail all of Newcomerstown, and Margaret'Peg' (Craig) Ridgway of Bentonville, AR.; two sons Dr. Chris (Azy) Yanai of Lima, and Paul (Gwen) Yanai of Stonecreek; four grandchildren, Mariann Montgomery, Mike Mayhew, Eric Kail and Andrew Yanai; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ann Somegye of Newcomerstown. Funeral mass will be at 11 am Thursday, September 18, 2003, at St. Francis DeSales Catholic church in Newcomerstown, with Father Ed Keck officiating, Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery.
