Milford Ray Bliss, 87, of 16497 Dog Road, Newcomerstown passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at his home. He was born October 30, 1919 to the late Albert and Etta Mae (Kedigh) Bliss. He was a retired construction worker with Laborers Local #134 of Newcomerstown. Milford was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, serving in Sicily, Italy, North Africa and was at Normandy on D-Day. On September 25, 1948 he married the former Fern Floyd. She preceeded him in death on March 25, 2006. He is survived by two daughters, Amy (Bliss) Baldwin and husband Jerry of Sophia, NC and Angie (Bliss) Berger of Thomasville, NC; one son, Alan Bliss of Kimbolton; two granddaughters, Sandra Bean Smith and husband Anthony of Trinity, NC and Cindy Bean Smith and husband Walt of Thomasville, NC; two grandsons, Rusty Ramsey and wife Ashley of Thomasville, NC and Jesse Bliss of Kimbolton; three great-granddaughters, Kara McDaniel of Trinity, NC, Jayden Smith and Kytlin Ramsey both of Thomasville, NC; a great-grandson, Tyler Smith of Thomasville, NC; two brothers, Albert Bliss and wife Wilda, Virgil Bliss and wife Betty, all of Newcomerstown; a sister, Wilma Booth of Newcomerstown. In addition to his wife and parents, Milford was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Elmer Bliss and a sister, Verna Stocker. Services will be held at Addy Funeral Home at Newcomerstown on Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Tom Barber. Burial will take place at West Lawn Cemetery at Newcomerstown,O.
