Raymond Milligan Obituary

Raymond L. Milligan, 82, of 58276 Township Road 1195, West Lafayette, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital in Coshocton. Born Nov. 16, 1925, in Kimbolton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Nora Black Milligan. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired truck driver and drove for Roadway Express before becoming an owner/operator. His CB handle was Red Rider. Mr. Milligan was a member of the Open Door Fellowship of Plainfield, and he enjoyed bluegrass music and family gatherings. On July 4, 1946, he married Marie Wilson Milligan, who survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Milligan is survived by three daughters, Romona (Robert) Gray of Antrim, Patty (Bob) Rausch and Judy Milligan, all of West Lafayette; two sons, Bill (Barb) Milligan of West Lafayette, and Ray (Linda) Milligan of Coshocton; 12 grandchildren, Rose (Mike) Lanning and Rod (Angie) Gray of Cambridge, Ronda (Kevin) Johnson of Grove City, Russell (Courtney) Gray of Antrim, Rob (Deanna) Rausch of Millersburg, Randy (Sarah) Rausch of Newark, Mike (Leona) Milligan, Craig (Missy) Milligan, Ginger (Jesse) Maple, all of West Lafayette, and Jesse (Hanna) Milligan, Jodi (Chris) Carpenter and Shawn (Missy) Green, all of West Lafayette; three stepgrandchildren, Missy (Bruce) Smith of Coshocton, Tracy (Brad) Carnes of Coshocton, and Brian (Maria) Guilliams of Florida; a grandson-in-law, Jay Douglas of Cambridge; 22 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Milligan, who died in 2002; a granddaughter, Roberta Douglas, who died in 2004; three brothers, Joe Milligan, Carl "Warnie" Milligan and Jim Milligan; and four sisters, Hazel Sarchet, Edith Bowers, Virginia March and Betty Garretson. Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. today, June 21, at Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 21, 2008, at Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Lloyd Tenney officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Newcomerstown. Military services will be conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Coshocton County, P.O.
