Richard Bond Obituary

Richard I. Bond, 82, of 1997 Gravel Lick Rd., Newcomerstown, O., died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, in Union Hospital at Dover. He was born Oct. 15, 1926, at Dennison, O., a son of the late Belinda (Chapman) Bond and Ray H. Bond. He was a 1944 Port Washington High School graduate. He was an Army Sergeant in World War II and was a farmer, bus driver and custodian for Indian Valley. He was Methodist by faith. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie L. (Parker) Bond, whom he married June 12, 1949; two sons, Ron A. Bond and wife Barb of Dover, Roger B. Bond and wife Gina of Newcomerstown; six grandchildren, Erin Giesey and husband Troy, Ryan, Randy, Robb, Kacy and Stacy Bond; two great-grandchildren, Claire Elisabeth Giesey and Ethan James Giesey; one sister, Francis Bond Hosler of Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney L. Bond and Randall D. Bond; one brother, Robert Bond; four sisters, Mildred Bond, Martha Bond McMullen, Edith Bond Bates and June Bond Shepherd. Graveside services will be held Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, beginning at 10 a.m. in Union Cemetery at Port Washington, O., with Tom Gardner officiating. Military services will be conducted by Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held in Addy Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
