Richard Gene Schworm Sr.

Richard Gene Schworm , 92, of Newcomerstown passed away Friday, March 20, 2026 at Riverside Manor Nursing & Rehab. Center. He was born November 22, 1933 in Newcomerstown to the late Elmer and Helen (Borkowski) Schworm. He was a 1951 graduate of Newcomerstown High School; he later retired from General Electric. Richard was a member of the Church of Christ in Newcomerstown. He enjoyed bowling and playing pool. He also enjoyed woodworking and hunting. On December 24, 1952, he married Esther R. (Cutshall) Schworm who passed away in 2017. Richard is survived by his children, Christine A. (Robert) McMullen of Newcomerstown, Richard G. Jr. (Karen) Schworm of Thayer, MO, Teresa L. Grewell of Nova, and Randy J. (Sheila) Schworm of Gnadenhutten; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandsons; one step-great-great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by seven siblings, Clark, Stanley, Roland, Lorin, Eleanor, Wayne, and Don. Services will be Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Addy Funeral Home with David Kenney officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
