Robert E. Myers, 80, of 14337 River Rd., Newcomerstown, O., died Thursday, April 24, 2008, in his home. He was born June 24, 1927 at Newcomerstown, the son of the late Carlos and Mary O. Durben Myers. A World War II Army veteran, he served from Dec. 22, 1945, to March 27, 1947. He was retired from Simonds Industries at Newcomerstown and was a member of Simonds Golf League. He was a member of the Newcomerstown Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography. Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Hunt) Myers, whom he married Jan. 17, 1951; a daughter, Christine Danley and husband Dick of Senecaville; two sons, Richard E. Myers of Newcomerstown, and Gary A. Myers and wife Jennifer of Hilliard; three grandchildren, Chad M. Danley and wife Christina, Natalie G. Myers and Grant A. Myers. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Myers; a brother, Curtis Myers; and a sister, Bernice Dakin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Newcomerstown Church of Christ with ministers Charles Newell and Flavil Miller officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery at Newcomerstown. Calling hours are Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Addy Funeral Home at Newcomerstown and Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. in the church.
