Roland Hackenbracht

Roland L. Hackenbracht Jr., 83, of 21479 County Road 410, West Lafayette, died Friday, May 30, 2008, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. He was born April 24, 1925, in Newcomerstown to the late Roland L. Sr. and Sarah Mildred Hathaway Hackenbracht. He was a dairy farmer and served in the U.S. Navy from June 1, 1944 to May 24, 1946. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newcomerstown, American Legion Post 466, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3303, on the board of directors at the Federal Land Bank of Mt. Vernon for 18 years, charter member of the Republican National Committee and was an Oxford Township trustee of Coshocton County for 11 years. He is survived by his wife, Gloria M. Loader Hackenbracht, whom he married on Oct. 5, 1952; two sons, Steven (Alexis) Hackenbracht and Thomas (Marie) Hackenbracht of West Lafayette; a daughter, Julie (Donald) Divelbiss of Butler; five grandchildren, Erin Wolford, Nathan Hackenbracht, Megan Haywood, Nigel Hackenbracht and Dalton Divelbiss; two great-grandchildren, Asher and Ephraim; five step-granchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth H. (Shirley) Hackenbracht of Mount Jackson, Va. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 2, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Barber and the Rev. Donald Silverthorne officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette, with military services conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard.
