Sandra Copeland

Sandra “Sandi” K. Copeland, 76 of West Lafayette, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026 at Lafayette Pointe.

Sandi was born September 30, 1949, in Massillon to the late Loren G. and Norma Jean (Moore) McIntosh. She was a Massillon Tigers fan, and worked hard all of her life. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a childlike personality, especially during the holidays. Sandi was an extremely generous person, always giving back even when she didn’t have very much.

She is survived by her children William Todd (Ginger) Smith and Timothy L. (Gina) Smith; her grandchildren Justin (Janel) Smith, Leah Smith, Jacob (Jade) Smith, Baylee Smith, and Annette Smith; her great-grandchildren Jackson Smith, Joshua Smith, Kinsley Smith, and Alanna Smith; her brother Mike (Sharon) Smith; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Along with her parents, Sandi was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald Copeland, who passed away in 1989; her great-grandson Kaden Smith; and her siblings Jimmy Lawson, Linda McIntosh, and Ricky Smith.

Per her wishes, a cremation will take place. Sandi will be laid to rest in Brookfield Cemetery in Massillon. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to the nurses and staff at Lafayette Pointe for caring for Sandi over the years.
