Theda Underwood

Theda E. Underwood, 92, of 114 E. Church St., Newcomerstown, O., died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, in the house she was born and lived all her life. She was born Dec. 25, 1915, at Newcomerstown, O., a daughter of the late Lola (Bricker) Robey and Fred Robey. She was a graduate of Newcomerstown High School Class of 1933. She was a housewife and a life member of Christ United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown. She was an inactive member of the United Methodist Women, sang in the church choir for over 45 years, was a former Sunday school teacher, former member of the Music Study Club and loved to raise flowers all of her life. On Dec. 31, 1938, she married Oliver "Doc" Underwood, who died Jan. 25, 1984. Surviving are one son, Brent Underwood of Newcomerstown; one grandson, Brett Underwood of Newcomerstown; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Gage Underwood; and former daughter-in-law, Tina Underwood of Newcomerstown. Services will be held at Addy Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, beginning at 1 p.m. with Rev. Russell Ham officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery at Newcomerstown, O. Visitation will be at Addy Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown Memorial Fund, 648 Oak St., Newcomerstown, O. 43832.
