Vera L. Hammersley

Vera Lynn Hammersley, 64 of Newcomerstown, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Coshocton Regional Medical Center.

Vera was born March 24, 1960, in Coshocton to the late John and Nancy (Williamson) McCormick. Vera was a cat lover, and enjoyed collecting unique cookie jars. She was a Candy Crush master, nearly reaching level 4,000.     

She is survived by her loving husband of sixteen years Thomas Hammersley; her daughters Cassandra (Travis) Sockman, Sierra Hammersley, and Angela Miller; her grandchildren Thomas Earl Hammersley; her great-grandchildren Taylee Matchett and one on the way; her sisters Debbie Foraker, and Linda (Roy) Russell; her best friend Faye Clift; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Floyd McCormick; her nephew Rusty Grewell, and her niece Brandy Larrison.

Per Vera’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
