Virginia "Ginny" Bates

Virginia A. "Ginny" Bates, 71, of Newcomerstown died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003. She was born May 11, 1932 in Coshocton County to the late Beulah (Honsven) and Arthur Eaton. On December 8, 1984, she married Lawrence Bates. She worked at Edmont-Wilson in Coshocton for 24 years and was owner-operator of Ginny's discount in Newcomerstown for 8 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ Christian Union of Newcomerstown. She loved to go to yard sales and the Frogtown Music Hall. She enjoyed flowers and decorating for Christmas. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters; Pamela Sue Walker of Zanesville and ex-husband James Walker of Newcomerstown, Debra Darlene Perkins and husband Brent A. of Newcomerstown; one son Robert L. Lawrence and wife Bonnie of Newcomerstown; 7 Grandchildren and 1 Great Granddaughter. Services will be held at Addy Funeral Home at 11 am Saturday Burial will be at Coshocton County Memory Gardens, Callling hours will be Friday from 6pm until8 pm at the Funeral Home.
