Walter John Grewell

Walter John Grewell, 84, of Coshocton, passed away on September 19, 2024, at the Truman Hospice House in New Philadelphia. He was born January 17, 1940 in Newcomerstown, OH to the late John Ervin and Hannah Gertrude (Plants) Grewell.

Walt was a 1958 graduate of Plainfield High School. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving from 1959 to 1963. He retired from Stone Container in Coshocton. Walt loved square dancing with Nancy, and he was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He was also a member of the Amvets Post 36 of Coshocton. On June 1, 2009, he married his wife, Nancy L. Grewell, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Walt is survived by his children, Raymond Walter Grewell, Carl Roger Grewell, Ronald Dean Grewell, Robyn Lynn (Mike) Chalfant, Rick Allen (Rochelle) Grewell; his step children, Brenda Watson, Donna Rose, and Richard Rose; grandchildren, Jonathan, Devon, Deidre, Seana Grewell, Kati Mc Keown, Michael Chalfant, Ricker Grewell; great-grandchildren, Kilynne Perdue, Kade Mc Keown, Emma and Cannon Grewell, Vinny and Nico Marsh, Bella Grewell; his siblings, Alice Rose Morgan, Mary Kay Campbell, Thelma March St. Clair, and Victor Ray Grewell.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Robbie Grewell; step-son, Donald "Wade" Rose; his siblings, Tacy Ellen Ray, Earl Christopher Grewell, James Ervin Grewell, Helen Louise Gotchall, Lorin Jay Grewell, Richard Dean Grewell, Robert LeRoy Grewell, and Dorothy June.
