Wayne E. Westhoefer, 81, of 27947 Township Road 281, Bakersville, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Union Hospital in Dover. He was born April 12, 1926, in Baltic, to the late Paul and Evelyn Dresher Westhoefer. He served in World War II as a U.S. Marine from Sept. 15, 1944, to Nov. 19, 1946, and worked at Bakersville Garage and Baltic Clay Products. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2040 in Coshocton and American Legion Post 65. He was a charter member and first president of the Bakersville Fire Department. He was Protestant by faith. ADVERTISEMENT He is survived by his wife, Wilma Rust Westhoefer, to whom he married on July 27, 1951; two sons, Mark (Brenda) Westhoefer and Steven (Kimberly) Westhoefer, all of Bakersville; one daughter, Holly Sue (Todd) Beitzel of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Timothy (Becky) Beitzel, Matthew (Nicole) Beitzel, Christopher Beitzel, Andrew Beitzel, Cody Westhoefer, Aaron Westhoefer and Dustin Westhoefer; four great-grandchildren, Nolan Beitzel, Evan Beitzel, Owen Beitzel and Kadence Beitzel; and two sisters, Anna Mae Manly of Canton and Virginia (Chester) Froelich of Baltic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Richard Manly. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at the funeral home with burial at Bakersville Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the Newcomertown Veterans Honor Guard.
